last BITE Erasmus mobility in Alcabideche, Portugal.

Water & healthy and sustainable food are two very up-to-date topics that are part of students’ curriculum at different levels. Therefore, working on them plays a very important role in developing their knowledge about them, making students reflect on the impact of these issues on their lives and making them aware of the necessary changes their lifestyles should go through. This was the topic in the last BITE Erasmus mobility in Alcabideche, Portugal.

Six students from 3rd and 4th ESO took part in it.

Before the meeting students worked in activities related to the topic “virtual water and water

footprint” in order to find out the meaning of these concepts and to be aware of this problem and the impact it has on our planet and our lives. Based on the data collected and studied in each partner school, during the meeting students formed mixed groups (one student from each country) and shared the information they have on the topic. Then they discussed present solutions to decrease the impact of this problem; and to design a campaign to disseminate their suggestions and promote responsible attitudes towards this issue (posters, video clips, infographics…).

Students also played a game about water.

Concerning the topic of healthy sustainable food there assisted a conference by an expert on this topic during the meeting.

Students involved in the project attended a workshop conducted by two chefs (a junior and an adult chef) on healthy sustainable food. In groups, students wrote healthy recipes to be part of a recipe e-book.

The students done a school trip to a biological farm and natural park, “Quinta do Pisão”, characterized by a mosaic of extremely rich vegetation, corresponding to a significant diversity of habitats representative of the ecology of this area.
