El passat mes de maig, un grup d’alumnes de 2n d\u2019ESO de l\u2019Institut Ramon Turr\u00f3 va viure la seva primera experi\u00e8ncia d\u2019immersi\u00f3 ling\u00fc\u00edstica en angl\u00e8s al Regne Unit. Van viatjar a Cirencester, una ciutat medieval situada a uns 150 km a l\u2019oest de Londres, on van passar sis dies allotjats amb fam\u00edlies locals. Aquesta conviv\u00e8ncia els va permetre practicar l\u2019angl\u00e8s en un context real i descobrir de primera m\u00e0 la cultura, els costums i l\u2019estil de vida brit\u00e0nic.<\/p>\n\n\n

Cada mat\u00ed, els estudiants assistien a classes d\u2019angl\u00e8s a l\u2019escola Cotswold International Language School, on professors nadius els ajudaven a millorar especialment la comunicaci\u00f3 oral. A les tardes, feien diverses activitats l\u00fadiques i culturals com jocs, esports tradicionals, entrevistes amb gent del poble, entre altres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despr\u00e9s de sopar amb les seves fam\u00edlies d\u2019acollida, segons la tradici\u00f3 brit\u00e0nica de menjar a les sis, els estudiants participaven en activitats de vespre o aprofitaven per continuar practicant l\u2019idioma a casa. Tamb\u00e9 van gaudir d\u2019un dia d\u2019excursi\u00f3 a Londres, on van fer turisme i van provar el fam\u00f3s fish and chips<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En conjunt, l\u2019experi\u00e8ncia va ser molt enriquidora, tant en l’\u00e0mbit ling\u00fc\u00edstic com el personal i cultural.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FIRST LANGUAGE IMMERSION EXPERIENCE AT RAMON TURR\u00d3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last May, some of our 2nd ESO students took their first English language immersion experience in England. Our students travelled to Cirencester, a Medieval town located 150 km west from London and enjoyed a 6-day trip there. They stayed with some host families where they could not only practice English in a real context but also live in first person British culture, manners, food and the British way of living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every day, students attended some English morning classes at Cotswold International Language School, where some native teachers taught them interesting lessons to reinforce students\u2019 oral communication. After that, students took out their packed lunches which had been previously prepared by their host families. In the afternoon, they had the chance to take part in some activities, such as trivia games, traditional English sports, interviews with people around town, and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students went home to have dinner with their families at 6pm, following the British tradition and participated in everyday family life. Then, there were either some scheduled evening activities or students could stay with the families to practice their speaking skills. On top of that, they even had a day off to go sightseeing around London city and taste some typical fish and chips at a local restaurant! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All in all, both teachers and students feel it has been an incredible experience to launch their English skills, to open their minds and get to know other cultures.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
