El primer grup treballa en el desenvolupament de dispositius basats en graf\u00e8 i altres materials que poden instal\u00b7lar-se al cervell per millorar la sinapsi. Aquests dispositius utilitzen neurotransmissors per interactuar amb mol\u00e8cules espec\u00edfiques que responen als sensors de graf\u00e8. Aquesta tecnologia permet enregistrar senyals neuronals i t\u00e9 aplicacions molt prometedores per millorar la qualitat de vida de pacients amb malalties com l&#8217;Alzheimer, certs tipus de ceguesa o la malaltia de Parkinson, ja que ajuda a reduir tremolors.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">A m\u00e9s, aquests dispositius tamb\u00e9 poden instal\u00b7lar-se a la retina, convertint la llum captada pels cons i bastons en impulsos el\u00e8ctrics que estimulen el cervell, permetent una certa recuperaci\u00f3 de la percepci\u00f3 visual. En l&#8217;\u00e0mbit de la neurocirurgia, aquestes tecnologies es fan servir per localitzar tumors amb major precisi\u00f3 durant les operacions.
