L\u2019accelerador de part\u00edcules que hi ha a Cerdanyola del Vall\u00e8s, anomenat &#8220;Sincrotr\u00f3 Alba&#8221;, accelera electrons en un tub circular de 268m fins arribar a velocitats molt properes a les de la llum, fent un mili\u00f3 de voltes per segon, moment en el qual aquests electrons emeten una radiaci\u00f3 que els cient\u00edfics fan servir per veure l\u2019estructura de la mat\u00e8ria. Podr\u00edem dir que el Sincrotr\u00f3 Alba \u00e9s un dels microscopis de millor resoluci\u00f3 del m\u00f3n. De fet els cient\u00edfics s\u00f3n all\u00e0 en part per observar molt clarament els seus experiments a una escala gaire b\u00e9 at\u00f2mica. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L\u2019accelerador de part\u00edcules m\u00e9s gran del m\u00f3n \u00e9s conegut com HLC (gran col\u00b7lisionador d\u2019hadrons). Es troba al CERN (Centre d\u2019Investigaci\u00f3 Nuclear Europea) a prop de Ginebra.
