Aquest recinte enjardinat fou constru\u00eft el 1791 per la fam\u00edlia Desvalls i ara \u00e9s un parc p\u00fablic administrat per l&#8217;Ajuntament de Barcelona. El seu propietari inicial, Joan Antoni Desvalls, era un home d&#8217;esperit selecte i de gran cultura, i volgu\u00e9 incorporar en els seus jardins un bon mostrari d&#8217;escultures i relleus de tem\u00e0tica mitol\u00f2gica grega i romana.
