Els investigadors ens van explicar l&#8217;elevat cost d&#8217;aquests aparells (gaireb\u00e9 un mili\u00f3 d&#8217;euros) i com han millorat en efici\u00e8ncia i disminu\u00eft en mida respecte de la generaci\u00f3 anterior de seq\u00fcenciadors. Analitzen mostres que reben de tot l&#8217;estat i fins i tot d&#8217;altres pa\u00efsos europeus, per tal de comparar el genoma i investigar malalties com el c\u00e0ncer, o causes de la disminuci\u00f3 de poblacions d&#8217;algunes esp\u00e8cies per evitar la seva extinci\u00f3, entre d&#8217;altres.<\/p>\n<p>Els alumnes vam poder fer un taller per analitzar l&#8217;ADN d&#8217;una mostra utilitzant seq\u00fcenciadors port\u00e0tils basats en nano porus. Aquests aparells port\u00e0tils s&#8217;han fet servir en epid\u00e8mies com la de l&#8217;Ebola el 2015 a l&#8217;\u00c0frica, o a missions de la NASA per trobar vida bacteriana a
