Debolsillo (cast.)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Monotype Corsiva, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Juny 2019<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">Les obres que proposem en aquesta ocasi\u00f3 (<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\"><i>El zero i l\u2019infinit <\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">i <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\"><i>La rebel\u00b7li\u00f3 dels animals<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">), publicades respectivament en 1940 i 1945, comparteixen una analogia: la den\u00fancia pol\u00edtica d\u2019un Estat \u2014l\u2019estalinista\u2014 per part d\u2019uns autors propers al moviment ideol\u00f2gic que inspir\u00e0 aquest r\u00e8gim, en un exercici autocr\u00edtic infreq\u00fcent en el si del marxisme europeu a la d\u00e8cada dels anys quaranta del segle passat, moment en el qual s\u2019emmarquen els fets sobre els que reflexionen aquestes novel\u00b7les. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">Tamb\u00e9 l\u2019evoluci\u00f3 d\u2019A. Koestler i G. Orwell camina en paral\u00b7lel si constatem que d\u2019una adhesi\u00f3 inicial al marxisme i de la defensa de la pol\u00edtica revolucion\u00e0ria (Koestler milit\u00e0 en el Partit Comunista d\u2019Alemanya entre 1931 i 1938) arribaren cap a l\u2019any 1937 a una postura clarament enfrontada a l\u2019estalinisme en un moment \u2014i aix\u00f2 conv\u00e9 tenir-ho present\u2014 on el control que Moscou exercia sobre el pensament d\u2019esquerres europeu havia esdevingut implacable. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">Tots dos posse\u00efren sens dubte aquelles virtuts que acompanyen sempre al veritable esperit cr\u00edtic: la lucidesa \u2014virtut de l\u2019intel\u00b7lecte\u2014 i el valor \u2014virtut de l\u2019\u00e0nim\u2014 sense les quals no pot obrir-se pas en per\u00edodes d\u2019intoler\u00e0ncia qualsevol obra compromesa amb la veritat. Comprendre i atrevir-se a contar-ho no sempre caminen de la m\u00e0 en \u00e8poques on l\u2019ortod\u00f2xia \u2014del signe que sigui\u2014 asf\u00edxia dogm\u00e0ticament el pensament. No fou el cas d\u2019aquests autors. La seva defensa d\u2019un socialisme democr\u00e0tic els va portar a emprendre una aferrissada lluita contra aquells que pretenien sacrificar la llibertat en nom d\u2019una ideologia totalit\u00e0ria que s\u2019arrogava la interpretaci\u00f3 del veritable sentit de la hist\u00f2ria en virtut d\u2019una ra\u00f3 la l\u00f2gica de la qual esdevenia d\u2019una implacable crueltat amb la discrep\u00e0ncia.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">En el cas del text d\u2019en Koestler, <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\"><i>El zero i l\u2019infinit<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">, aquesta censura pren cos a trav\u00e9s del relat del processament d\u2019un dels pares de la revoluci\u00f3 russa, Nicol\u00e0i Bujarin, al\u00b7ludit a la novel\u00b7la sota el nom de Rubashov, en el marc dels Judicis de Moscou dels anys 1936-1938 on Stalin <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">va eliminar quasi tots els membres del \u201cpolitbur\u00f3\u201d de l&#8217;\u00e8poca de Lenin. Rubachof, que \u00e9s un d\u2019aquests dirigents de la vella gu\u00e0rdia bolxevica que roman a pres\u00f3 acusat de rebel\u00b7li\u00f3 a l&#8217;espera de ser condemnat per la nova direcci\u00f3 del partit, intransigent respecte de qualsevol desviaci\u00f3 d\u2019all\u00f2 que el pensament \u00fanic exigeix, no es fa gaires il\u00b7lusions sobre la sort que l\u2019espera; ell tamb\u00e9 ha for\u00e7at confessions, ha tra\u00eft i\u00a0ha inventat proves falses quan el poder l\u2019emparava.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">I ara a la pres\u00f3 \u2014el marc on es desenvolupa la trama\u2014 Rubashov es planteja dues q\u00fcestions cabdals. La primera t\u00e9 a veure amb la pr\u00f2pia identitat, amb el propi jo, al qual ha sacrificat en nom d\u2019un \u201cnosaltres\u201d imposat pel Partit. En el moment en qu\u00e8 s\u2019enfronta a un judici en el qual se sap condemnat d\u2019antuvi emergeix un problema te\u00f2ric que li havia passat desapercebut durant la seva carrera al servei del Partit: el de saber-se un jo, una primera persona del singular enfrontada a aquell \u201cnosaltres\u201d com a forma identit\u00e0ria propugnada pel moviment revolucionari; una consci\u00e8ncia individual que no es resigna a diluir-se en una consci\u00e8ncia col\u00b7lectiva, i que tempteja un mode de recon\u00e8ixer-se acceptable malgrat haver defensat fins aleshores que \u201cl\u2019individu era un no-res i el Partit ho era tot\u201d, que \u201cla branca que es separa de l\u2019arbre tendeix irremeiablement a assecar-se\u201d. Aquest espai de reconeixement que pugna ara per guanyar una veu pr\u00f2pia, batejat per Rubashov com a \u201cficci\u00f3 gramatical\u201d, va guanyant terreny paulatinament sobre la consci\u00e8ncia col\u00b7lectiva instal\u00b7lada en ell en el moment en qu\u00e8 afloren del passat els records de la relaci\u00f3 sentimental que mantingu\u00e9 amb la seva secret\u00e0ria, Arlova, a la qual va sacrificar per salvar-se ell, i amb ocasi\u00f3 dels crits de dolor d\u2019un dels torturats que compartien pres\u00f3 amb ell. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">L\u2019equaci\u00f3 que igualava els \u00e8xits de la revoluci\u00f3, el cam\u00ed inexorable de la hist\u00f2ria per fi ent\u00e8s, i el cost hum\u00e0 en termes de patiment sofert pels qui van ser sacrificats en el curs d\u2019aquell cam\u00ed es va desequilibrar definitivament als ulls de Rubashov aquells dies de turment. Quin sentit tenia el sacrifici egoista de la pr\u00f2pia amant? Com ignorar els crits a la pres\u00f3 de Bogrov, el cap de la flota de l\u2019Est a qui Robashov va ensenyar a llegir temps enrere, i que enmig de les tortures no deixava de pronunciar el seu nom com un n\u00e0ufrag s\u2019aferra a la taula de salvaci\u00f3? El factor menyspreable de l\u2019equaci\u00f3 l\u00f2gica es tornava ara incommensurable, tot ofegant la veu de la ra\u00f3 com les onades silencien en una nit de tempesta els crits dels mariners moribunds.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">L\u2019altra q\u00fcesti\u00f3, vinculada en darrer terme a l\u2019anterior, neix de l\u2019acceptaci\u00f3 de la f\u00f3rmula de l\u2019\u00e8tica maquiav\u00e8l\u00b7lica que legitima que en temps convulsos el fi justifica els mitjans, incl\u00f2s la mort de qui discrepa del Partit, el veritable int\u00e8rpret del sentit de la Hist\u00f2ria i el garant de la correcta praxi revolucion\u00e0ria. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">Tot plegat, en Rubashov es veu obligat a claudicar davant els fiscals que l\u2019acusen i assumeix el c\u00e0rrec principal: \u00ab<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\"><i>Em confesso culpable d&#8217;haver seguit impulsos sentimentals i, en fer-ho, d&#8217;haver-me posat en contradicci\u00f3 amb la necessitat hist\u00f2rica. Em confesso culpable d&#8217;haver valorat la q\u00fcesti\u00f3 de la culpabilitat i innoc\u00e8ncia en un pla m\u00e9s elevat que el de la utilitat i el perjudici. Finalment, em declaro culpable d&#8217;haver col\u00b7locat la idea d&#8217;home per sobre de la idea d&#8217;humanitat<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">&#8230;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">\u00bb Tr\u00e0gica ironia la d\u2019aquell que s\u2019immola en nom d\u2019uns ideals en els quals ja no creu.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">L\u2019altra obra, <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\"><i>La rebel\u00b7li\u00f3 dels animals<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\"> de G. Orwell, plasma en forma de faula la hist\u00f2ria de la revoluci\u00f3 russa tot criticant l\u2019estalinisme i la corrupci\u00f3 que engendra el poder. Magistralment narrada, la faula exigeix una interpretaci\u00f3 dels seus principals protagonistes, que al\u00b7ludeixen als actors que van participar en aquell esdeveniment hist\u00f2ric, on cobren particular import\u00e0ncia els porcs, representant als bolxevics, i en concret dos d\u2019ells: Napole\u00f3 (Stalin) i Snowball (Trostki).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">Tots dos textos neixen d\u2019un esperit l\u00facid i valer\u00f3s que els totalitarismes de tots els temps han tractat de suprimir. La profunditat d\u2019aquella lucidesa i el valor necessari per denunciar la perversi\u00f3 d\u2019aquell poder pol\u00edtic fan d\u2019aquestes dues novel\u00b7les ant\u00eddots perpetus contra la corrupci\u00f3 dels governants.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">[A.
