Aquest relat curt esdev\u00e9 un compendi de les virtuts liter\u00e0ries que exhib\u00ed a les seves grans obres, on excel\u00b7l\u00ed per aquella sofisticaci\u00f3 estil\u00edstica que ell atribu\u00efa m\u00e9s a l\u2019infatigable esfor\u00e7 de revisi\u00f3 del text que no pas a brillants intu\u00efcions fruit d\u2019un talent que negava posseir. L\u2019escriptor capa\u00e7 d\u2019escriure frases de m\u00e9s de vint l\u00ednies on la forma liter\u00e0ria arriba a cotes de perfecci\u00f3 dif\u00edcilment superables; l\u2019autor que demostr\u00e0 una erudici\u00f3 cient\u00edfica desacostumada i va ser capa\u00e7 d\u2019escriure all\u00f2 complex d\u2019una forma senzilla; l\u2019home, en fi, que convert\u00ed certs cap\u00edtols de les seves novel\u00b7les en profundes especulacions sobre la creaci\u00f3 art\u00edstica, la bellesa, o les relacions entre malaltia i esperit, T. Mann, avorria els genis desequilibrats, les actituds exc\u00e8ntriques i estrafol\u00e0ries que exhibien alguns escriptors, tota forma de bogeria que desvi\u00e9s rom\u00e0nticament l\u2019atenci\u00f3 del sacrifici i la tenacitat de l\u2019ofici d\u2019escriptor.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"es-ES\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">Si <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\"><i>L\u2019enganyada<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\"> glosa, com d\u00e8iem abans, les virtuts liter\u00e0ries de l\u2019escriptor de L\u00fcbeck \u00e9s perqu\u00e8 ens hi tornem a trobar amb l\u2019escriptor d\u2019idees m\u00e9s que no pas de personatges i hist\u00f2ries, amb la prosa descriptiva que enlluerna m\u00e9s que emociona, amb la ploma d\u2019un narrador que veu moltes coses i li calen llargues frases per aprofundir i matisar tots el detalls de la situaci\u00f3 descrita per aconseguir una comunicaci\u00f3 perfecta de la idea que tracta de reflectir tot defugint la temptaci\u00f3 de provocar emocions immediates en el lector. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"es-ES\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">Aquesta ser\u00e0, com esmentarem m\u00e9s endavant, una difer\u00e8ncia important entre l\u2019autor alemany i l\u2019escriptor austr\u00edac i una de les raons per les quals proposem la lectura alhora de <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\"><i>L\u2019enganyada<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\"> i <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\"><i>Ardent secret<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">: confrontar dos estils narratius davant una hist\u00f2ria que presenta similituds per tal de copsar l\u2019efecte diferent que provoquen en el lector aquestes dues experi\u00e8ncies liter\u00e0ries.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"es-ES\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">Quant a l\u2019argument de <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\"><i>L\u2019enganyada<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">, narra la hist\u00f2ria d\u2019una v\u00eddua, Rosalie von T\u00fcmmler, apassionada admiradora de la naturalesa, que als cinquanta anys s\u2019enamor\u00e0 del professor d\u2019angl\u00e8s del seu fill, un home molt m\u00e9s jove que ella que despert\u00e0 un desig adormit quan el seu cos, encara esvelt, comen\u00e7ava a manifestar els signes del pas del temps. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"es-ES\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">Dos s\u00f3n els personatges als quals d\u00f3na veu T. Mann en aquesta novel\u00b7la: per un cant\u00f3 trobem la figura de Rosalie, entusiasta amant de la naturalesa d\u2019ing\u00e8nua vivacitat, capa\u00e7 d\u2019emocionar-se amb la frag\u00e0ncia de les flors a la primavera, estaci\u00f3 en la qual va n\u00e9ixer; esperit espontani que valora m\u00e9s els afectes i sentiments que ens connecten amb aquella for\u00e7a vital que no pas una racionalitat desenvolupada d\u2019esquenes a ella. Per altra banda trobem la figura de la seva filla, Anna, dona de trenta anys d\u2019esperit cr\u00edtic, intel\u00b7ligent, i tarann\u00e0 oposat al de la mare, que actuar\u00e0 en les seves intervencions de contrapunt a les opinions maternes. B\u00e9 podr\u00edem dir que T. Mann aprofundeix a trav\u00e9s dels dos personatges centrals de l\u2019obra en la dial\u00e8ctica entre la ra\u00f3 i la passi\u00f3, tot apostant en el balan\u00e7 general del text per afeblir aquella en relaci\u00f3 a aquesta sota la forma d\u2019una sublim exaltaci\u00f3 de la natura. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"es-ES\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">Rosalie, que pateix el dol\u00e7 turment d\u2019un desig cap a un home m\u00e9s jove i reviu sentiments quan ja no esperava cap regal de la naturalesa tot prenent consci\u00e8ncia del miracle d\u2019experimentar una primavera a l\u2019\u00e0nima quan s\u2019ha iniciat la tardor del cos, no \u00e9s conscient que als ulls l\u00facids i freds de la filla s\u2019ha convertit en un \u00e9sser subm\u00eds i humil cap a l\u2019objecte del seu amor, generant en Anna un efecte pen\u00f3s que aquesta procura amagar-li. Tot i aix\u00ed, T. Mann es cuida molt de ridiculitzar la figura de Rosalie, que surt enaltida al final de la novel\u00b7la en un dels desenlla\u00e7os m\u00e9s bells de les seves obres.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"es-ES\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">Pel que fa a l\u2019obra de S. Zweig (1881-1942), <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\"><i>Ardent secret<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">, escrita l\u2019any 1911, es tracta d\u2019un relat breu constru\u00eft amb aquella tensi\u00f3 argumentativa creixent amb la qual S. Zweig captava l\u2019atenci\u00f3 del lector tot provocant-li els mateixos sentiments que experimentaven els seus protagonistes. Pocs autors han aconseguit amb tanta efic\u00e0cia el prodigi narratiu de suprimir la dist\u00e0ncia entre l\u2019emoci\u00f3 liter\u00e0ria, fict\u00edcia, i la viscuda pel lector, sacsejat per sentiments d\u2019id\u00e8ntica <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"es-ES\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">intensitat als experimentats pels personatges de les seves obres. Aquesta \u00e9s una de les claus del seu estil. Per aconseguir-ho, s\u2019ha d\u2019anar m\u00e9s enll\u00e0 de la penetraci\u00f3 psicol\u00f2gica que exhib\u00ed T. Mann: s\u2019ha d\u2019excitar una reacci\u00f3 emp\u00e0tica en el lector que l\u2019escriptor alemany, amb la creaci\u00f3 d\u2019un llenguatge culte, virtu\u00f3s, elegantment fred, en comptades ocasions aconsegueix. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"es-ES\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">B\u00e9 podr\u00edem dir que si en el cas de T. Mann \u00e9s la ra\u00f3 qui, segura de si mateixa, contempla l\u2019abisme on es troben uns instints que mai no constitueixen una amena\u00e7a real al seu imperi, en el cas de S. Zweig la ra\u00f3 perd la seva seguretat davant d\u2019una for\u00e7a irracional que amena\u00e7a amb segrestar-la, tot usurpant el seu control sobre la voluntat. La literatura de S. Zweig, com la d\u2019altres autors del per\u00edode d\u2019entreguerres de l\u2019antic Imperi austrohongar\u00e8s, no es pot entendre sense valorar en la seva justa mesura l\u2019impacte que S. Freu exerc\u00ed sobre tots ells en situar en l\u2019\u00e0mbit de l\u2019inconscient les veritables claus de la conducta humana.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"es-ES\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\"><i>Ardent secret<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\"> \u00e9s la hist\u00f2ria d\u2019una seducci\u00f3: la que un jove bar\u00f3 pret\u00e9n assolir sobre una dona casada i amb un fill que estiueja a un hotel de muntanya. En l\u2019inici, S. Zweig es recrea en els pensaments del bar\u00f3, tot descrivint-lo com a \u00abca\u00e7ador de dones\u00bb. El seu perfil \u00e9s el d\u2019aquell jove atractiu sempre en tensi\u00f3 davant la possibilitat d\u2019una aventura, d\u2019una oportunitat er\u00f2tica, que capta a cada d\u00f3na des del punt de vista sensual i calcula l\u2019estrat\u00e8gia per a reeixir en el seu objectiu. Per ell, l\u2019experi\u00e8ncia sensual \u00e9s la font eterna que nodreix i estimula la seva vida. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"es-ES\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">La d\u00f3na casada, que en \u00abel purpuri crepuscle de la seva bellesa\u00bb percep les intencions del bar\u00f3, es debat entre l\u2019elecci\u00f3 d\u2019un doble dest\u00ed: el maternal, que es viscut com a resignada acceptaci\u00f3 del dest\u00ed dels fills com a dest\u00ed propi, i el femen\u00ed que la impulsa a gaudir d\u2019una de les darreres experi\u00e8ncies er\u00f2tiques que se li presenten. Al bar\u00f3, perspica\u00e7 davant d\u2019aquestes q\u00fcestions, no li passa desapercebuda aquesta perillosa vacil\u00b7laci\u00f3 que experimenta la dona entre la passi\u00f3 de viure i el sacrifici. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"es-ES\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">No sentiu lluny\u00e0 el cant d\u2019una parella de cignes negres que neden malenconiosos i nost\u00e0lgics per les aig\u00fces d\u2019un estanc?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"es-ES\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"ca-ES\">[A.
