Last Friday, 14th February, our two classes of batxillerat went to the theatre in Tarragona. We went to Teatre Metropol to watch a version of Shakespeare\u2019s\u00a0Hamlet<\/i>\u00a0by the company \u2018Les Mirones\u2019. We caught the bus from behind the school at\u00a08.50, and the play started at 10.10.<\/h5>\n

\nThe complete version of\u00a0Hamlet<\/i>\u00a0usually takes longer than four hours: it\u2019s composed of five acts. This version for secondary schools was a bit longer than one hour. The actors wore casual, contemporary dresses, which was OK, but it somehow\u00a0made it difficult to identify some of the characters.<\/p>\n

The level of English was understandable for most of our students, but some parts were missed under the sound conditions. Fortunately, we didn\u2019t miss the famous soliloquy \u2018To be or not to be\u2019, the also famous tirade of \u2018Words, words, words\u2019 by Hamlet,\u00a0nor Yorik\u2019s skull by the graveyard.<\/p>\n

We hope everybody enjoyed themselves and will be interested in seeing other versions of this masterwork from Shakespeare\u2019s genius. The day was sunny and the weather was mild. We still had time to come back to the school for the last two classes of the day.<\/span><\/h5>\n
