{"id":12086,"date":"2024-05-24T13:55:52","date_gmt":"2024-05-24T11:55:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/agora.xtec.cat\/iesbde\/?p=12086"},"modified":"2024-05-24T13:55:52","modified_gmt":"2024-05-24T11:55:52","slug":"ted-ed-club-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/agora.xtec.cat\/iesbde\/general\/ted-ed-club-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"TED-Ed CLUB 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_uWimUi3lpg?si=G2h9Pj9taDPhkeq0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">TED-Ed Clubs are a part of\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ed.ted.com\/student_talks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TED-Ed\u2019s Student Talks Program<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0a free curriculum for students and educators on a mission to identify, develop, and deliver students\u00b4\u00a0ideas via TED-style talks\u00a0under the slogan\u00a0\u201cideas worth spreading\u201d.\u00a0When it was founded, in 1984, TED (which stands for \u201cTechnology, Entertainment, and Design\u201d) brought together a few hundred people in a single annual conference in California.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A total of\u00a0<strong>6\u00a0teams with\u00a014\u00a0students of 1st Bat participated<\/strong> in the\u00a0TED-Ed\u00a0Club\u00a02024\u00a0(Reus-Baix Camp)\u00a0on\u00a0the past\u00a029th April\u00a0<strong>in Infant Pere\u00a0auditorium in l\u00b4Hospitalet de l\u00b4Infant<\/strong>.\u00a0This educational project\u00a0consisted of giving a\u00a03-minute talk about\u00a0the\u00a0future.\u00a0Carrying out\u00a0this\u00a0new challenge\u00a0the\u00a0pupils\u00a0developed\u00a0not only\u00a0their\u00a0creativity\u00a0but\u00a0also\u00a0their oral communication skills.The\u00a0task\u00a0is\u00a0included in the course curriculum\u00a0and the most creative\u00a0presentations\u00a0were chosen to participate in this\u00a0experience.\u00a0On this occasion\u00a0some of our students helped with the organization of the event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The\u00a0convention\u00a0lasted\u00a0two\u00a0hours\u00a0and\u00a0at the end all the participants were awarded with a Certificate for participating in the TED-Ed\u00a0Club Talks 2024\u00a0edition.\u00a0Students\u00a0and teachers\u00a0eager to hear the\u00a0talks\u00a0had great fun. It was done in the high school assembly room on the 23rd April and CRP ( Reus-Baix Camp) hosted the ceremony.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">List of contestants:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Team 1:Don\u00b4t waste our world!. Aina Aragon\u00e9s Tonda, Joan Jardi Marco, \u00c8lia Sastre Farn\u00f3s.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Team 3:\u00a0Listen to it. Arnau Pons Badenes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Team 4:\u00a0Teen apocalypse. J\u00falia Galcer\u00e1n L\u00f3pez, Alba Mantec\u00f3n Lia\u00f1o, Ail\u00e9n A. N\u00fa\u00f1ez Gim\u00e9nez.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Team\u00a05:\u00a0Tomorrow. Maria Gil S\u00e1ez, Candela Llamas Fuentes, J\u00falia Sol\u00e9 Dom\u00e8nech.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Team 6: Love in the time of algorithms. Selena Ruiz Sarmiento.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These are some of the opinions of the participants:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abThis project has helped me to be more confident on the stage and control my nerves when speaking in public. It is also helpful to be aware of your pronunciation\u00bb (Alba Mantec\u00f3n Lia\u00f1o)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abI am very satisfied with this experience because it has been my first challenge in the English subject and I would like to do it again\u00bb (Arnau Pons Badenes)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abI think that this is a good opportunity to practice oral presentations in the high school\u00bb (\u00c8lia Sastre Farn\u00f3s)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abIt is a chance to do something different. At the beginning, it was hard and my team and I were very nervous but at the end we got it. I honestly recommend it\u00bb (Aina Aragon\u00e8s Tonda)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abThis experience has helped me to be more confident when it comes to public speaking. The dress rehearsal at the auditorium helped me with the nerves of being alone on the stage and feel comfortable presenting my talk\u00bb (Selena Ruiz Sarmiento)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abIt is a very good learning situation to improve your communication skills. The hardest thing is to present your personal ideas in front of the audience on a stage. Despite the hard work, it\u00b4s worths it\u00bb (Joan Jardi Marco)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abWe are the group of Denisa, Irene and Adriana and we really enjoyed this experience. It helped us get a little more over our stage fright and shyness, and it was great to learn and get more fluid in speaking English. We recommend future students to take on this experience\u00bb (Adriana Arnau, Irene Ceballos, Denisa Scarlat)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abIn \u00a0our opinion, the TED TALK activity was a great way to learn English, how to do a presentation and how to deal with nerves. It also gave us confidence.
