We have added good soil to all the parts we have, and when we add soil we always mix it with the soil that was already there using the rake and shovel. To prepare the soil for planting, we have pulled out all the weeds and other plants that were there, a very necessary job. We have planted carrots, calçots (which is a type of long onion), broccoli, lettuce and turnips. We have watered it for a few days, but we think we should water it more often. We are excited when we go to the garden during English lessons. We have learned a lot of vocabulary and phrases to explain what we do. The dossier we have finished has been very practical and has taught us many things. One very important thing has been knowing which insects and animals are beneficial for the garden (such as worms or ladybirds) and which ones are not of interest because they eat leaves (such as snails or birds).

English version The 4th grade students continue working in the vegetable garden.
