A Europa l&#8217;any 1910 en la 2a Confer\u00e8ncia Internacional de Dones Socialistes Clara Zetkin propos\u00e0 l&#8217;establiment del Dia Internacional de les Dones per tal de promoure el sufragi femen\u00ed, a m\u00e9s de la pau i la llibertat. Seguint aquesta iniciativa, l&#8217;any seg\u00fcent, m\u00e9s d&#8217;un mili\u00f3 de dones europees i nord-americanes sortiren al carrer.
