Les imatges precolombines com el Chac Mool van influir poderosament a la seva obra, en la que abunden les abstraccions de figures humanes, i es ponderen per igual els espais i volums. L&#8217;art precolomb\u00ed va atreure especialment a Moore, des que les col\u00b7leccions \u00e8tniques del Museu Brit\u00e0nic de Londres, es van constituir en una revelaci\u00f3 per al jove artista el 1921.
