In Global Scholars<\/strong> we must present a Community Action Project<\/strong> at the end of the school year, addressing an envirormental\u00a0problem and\u00a0providing information and solutions to improve it.<\/p>\n

We decided to split into two groups and create two different presentations; one\u00a0 regarding Water Waste during our present drought and another one about pollution in our city.<\/p>\n

Our Community Action Goal<\/strong> was to raise awareness about these topics in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat.<\/p>\n

For example, we know that pollution causes less fauna and flora in L’Hospitalet, another example is that animals eat rubbish and get sick. In terms of water waste, we can reduce water usage with different simple actions.<\/p>\n

The impact our project had on our community was to have more ideas and consciousness about our role in polluting our city and how to save water.<\/p>\n

Some actions you can take to address this issue are: 1) Walk more and use bicycles to reduce the fuel emissions. 2) Recycle plastics or reduce plastic consumption. 3) Create a system to exchange rubbish for money, like in Germany, to promote recycling. 4) Make more biodegradable everyday objects.<\/p>\n

In terms of saving water, we can:\u00a01) to close the tap when you’re not using it, like when brushing your teeth, 2) to store rain water, 3) to limit the amount of water in every house\u00a0 4) people stop using their own swimming pools, 5) cut the use of water in public fountains and taps 6) no more showers at the beach<\/p>\n

We truly enjoyed being part of Global Scholars and we learned different ways of learning new things.<\/p>\n
