{"id":604,"date":"2016-10-08T16:58:23","date_gmt":"2016-10-08T15:58:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/agora.xtec.cat\/ies-bisbe-berenguer\/?p=604"},"modified":"2019-11-18T12:21:02","modified_gmt":"2019-11-18T11:21:02","slug":"we-are-a-gep-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/agora.xtec.cat\/ies-bisbe-berenguer\/gep\/we-are-a-gep-school\/","title":{"rendered":"WE ARE A GEP SCHOOL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"western\" lang=\"ca-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>GEP (Grup d\u00b4Experimentaci\u00f3 per al Pluriling\u00fcisme) <\/strong>is a group whose main aim is to foster the use of foreign languages at school in compulsory and elective subjects.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"ca-ES\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a global world, knowing and using other languages becomes an essential tool for students, either within education or in their future career.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"ca-ES\">This approach is based on CLIL methodology (Content and Language Integrated Learning), AICLE in Catalan (Aprenentatge Integrat de Contingut i Llengua) that promotes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"ca-ES\">cross-curricular learning and competency-based learning<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"ca-ES\"><a name=\"_GoBack\"><\/a>developing learning strategies<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"ca-ES\">students\u00b4active participation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"ca-ES\">curiosity and personal initiative<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"ca-ES\"><strong>OBJECTIVES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"ca-ES\">Improve foreign languages in compulsory secondary education<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"ca-ES\">Apply CLIL\/AICLE methodology in class<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"ca-ES\">Handle diversity and promote excellence<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"ca-ES\">Foster educational and cultural exchange programmes<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"ca-ES\">Develop collaborative work<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"ca-ES\">Consolidate trained and qualified teachers who can teach their subject in a foreign language.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"ca-ES\">Raise awareness of the importance of foreign languages in a global and multilingual society<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"ca-ES\">At the moment some subjects are taught partially in English. At Bisbe Berenguer the aim is to widen this project gradually to more subjects.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"ca-ES\"><strong>2nd year:<\/strong> Science (laboratory classes)<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"ca-ES\"><strong>3rd year:<\/strong> Science, Technology and Classical Culture (elective subject)<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"ca-ES\"><strong>4th year:<\/strong> Social studies (History)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GEP (Grup d\u00b4Experimentaci\u00f3 per al Pluriling\u00fcisme) is a group whose main aim is to foster the use of foreign languages at school in compulsory and elective subjects.
