The innovative project in the English Class<\/strong><\/p>\n

Starting a new year in our IE LONDRES, the students were divided into
\n\"\"three groups that represent three different cities: London, Vancouver and San Francisco. All groups had chosen a Global Goal and started decorating
\ntheir class with typical attractions or icons of every city, for example, the
\nLondon\u2019s telephone cabins, San Francisco\u2019s cable cars and Vancouver\u2019s
\norcas. The rest of the students had been searching information to end up
\ndoing a presentation as a good practice of their oral skills, the so-called\u201csoft-skills\u201d.
\nThe London\u2019s group chose Global Goal: Quality Education. The students
\nhad been investigating the quality there and find the difference from Spain.
\nThey interviewed Mrs. Donna Rose, a P.E. and Erasmus Coordinator in
\nWilliam Bellamy school in London, Mrs. Rose collaborated with us in a
\nprevious Erasmus project and she was kind in answering our questions:
\nWhat country has a higher quality than the other? Or are the same?<\/p>\n

Learning more about London and their system of education, the school
\nuniforms, what is the relationship between teachers and students, etc\u2026
\nInterviewing a student from the London\u2019s group:
\n\u201cI like how the project is organized and looks for the students and giving us
\nthe opportunity to know how to communicate in English. In my research I got
\nsurprised that their system is different in the aspect that they learn withprojects rather than only memorizing.\u201d<\/p>\n

The San Francisco\u2019s group chose Global Goal: Gender Equality. In this
\ngroup they had been given a volunteering team that helped them prepare to
\nimprove their presentations and refine their English. This group made two
\ndisplays, one introducing the city with tourist places and their traditions.
\nWhile the other students look up about the freedom in gender equality and
\nhomosexuality.<\/p>\n

Interviewing a student from the San Francisco\u2019s group:
\n\u201cI think it\u2019s a great project to improve our oral expressions, expand our
\nvocabulary, and treating important topics that affect ourselves and the whole
\nworld. It\u2019s also interesting to know that San Francisco is the only city in the
\nUSA with a women\u2019s department.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nThe Vancouver\u2019s group chose Global Goal: Life Below Water. Dividing all
\nstudents into five groups with five topics, passing through the groups they told
\nus what they had been searching. First group\u2019s topic was about the economy,
\nthe language, the weather and the national animals. Second group explored
\nthe places to visit, the dangerous districts, famous parks, bridges and football
\nteams. Third team had information about the History, the currency and the
\nexpensive people. Fourth team wanted to know about the tourism, the sports
\nstadium and the indigenous settlements. Finally the fifth team found about the
\nsea level comparison of 80 years ago, the greenest city, the location, festivals
\nand green programs.<\/p>\n

Interviewing a student from the Vancouver\u2019s group:
\n\u201cThis was a perfect way to learn more about the cities around the world just
\nlike I learned that Vancouver is the greenest city in the world and with clean
\noceans.\u201d<\/p>\n
