International Women’s Day is held on 8th March each year and <\/span>we’re celebrating the women who’ve had huge impacts on the feminist movement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our 3rd and 4th grade students have been working on this women\u2019s footprint timeline. They have been researching how women have made extraordinary contributions to their societies. Some are well known, some less, but all have left their mark on history.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

One of these women is Estel Sol\u00e9. She is a Catalan writer, actress and activist <\/span>who is looking to raise awareness about \u201cEndometriosis\u201d. \u201cEndometriosis\u201d is a debilitating, chronic condition that affects 1 in 10 women worldwide. Unfortunately, women with endometriosis can wait up to 10 years for a diagnosis. So…why does it take so long? That\u2019s for period pain normalisation which is stereotyped. It means women often wait two to three years from the onset of symptoms before seeking medical help.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We sent her our project and she posted it on social media. We are so happy and grateful that our timeline was well received! Thank you, Estel!<\/span><\/p>\n

Helping our children to find inspiration and courage from diverse women role models is key to education. So teaching children and young adolescents to actively question and openly challenge stereotypes is important because it helps forge a more inclusive world.<\/span><\/p>\n
