The activity was planned in order to introduce the partners with the music and art of the Lithuanian composer and painter M.K.Ciurlionis (MKC), and learn about the Lithuanian folk music and traditions with the links to the European cultural heritage including the partner countries folklore.
First, the introductory programme about the art and life of MKC was presented in order to immerse into the music world of the composer works.The PP presentations about the life and art of MKC were given and explained by Kulupenai students. Fragments of the national film about MKC were shown and discussed.
To explore the world of colours and music,the participants were invited to see the exhibit of M.KCiurlionis paintings‘copies.Creative drawing activities were organised: the participants created pictures on the basis of different themes discovered in the art of MKC.
Discovering the links of the Lithuanian folklore and traditions in the music and art of MKC, the participants were listening and discussing the themes of music. Every international group was given a question in order to find the links between the folk song and the paintings or music pieces of MKC. The fairy-tales were read and compared to the paintings of MKC.
The International „Music and Art Lesson“ was organised. The partners presented their programmes (folk songs, PP presentations, dances) prepared for this lesson before the mobility in Kulupenai. All the partners followed the requirement to have the audience involved in their presentations, and all the participants had the opportunity to join Spanish, Greek, Italian, Polish, Lithuanian songs, dances and rythmical motions.Then, a music show was organised and led by the teachers and students of Salantai music school. Three participants were practicing/rehearsing different pieces of music – rythmical and instrumental.
Visiting P.Domsaitis Art Galery in Klaiped, Palanga Amber Museum with educational activities, visiting Nida, the Curonian Spit, for the purpose to understand the culture and traditions of this region, visiting Kretinga and Klaipeda for cultural purposes.
