From TURKEY to our CLASSROOMS: Celebrating HILAL’s Contributions

Hilal joined our school in late September 2024, arriving at the same time as her fellow language assistant Şeyma. Unlike the latter, who came from Istanbul, Hilal is from Ağrı, a small town in eastern Turkey near the Armenian border. Older and quieter than her colleague, Hilal had an introverted nature, but she contributed as much to our school thanks to her hard work and dedication. Her experience in teaching is not as broad as her colleague’s, partly because she has studies in Administration. However, her help also did come in as a valuable resource for students who needed extra support with their language skills.

During her time with us, she also worked with students across all levels, from primary to secondary, helping them improve their English through regular practice. One of her best features was the patience and the encouragement she showed to lower-level students. She was hosted by a student’s family, which gave her the chance to explore and experience local life. In their free time, Hilal and Şeyma both enjoyed travelling and exploring new places, immersing themselves in the culture and scenery of the region and its language.

Hilal also left us in mid-December, leaving behind a positive contribution to the school and its students. We would like to wish her the best of luck in her upcoming projects.

We will miss you, Hilal!
