At the end of September 2024, our school had the pleasure to welcome Şeyma Kapar, a twenty-two-year-old language assistant from Istanbul, Turkey. Earlier last year, Şeyma graduated in English Language Teaching (ELT) at one of the universities in her country and is currently pursuing her passion for teaching while gaining valuable experience abroad. Despite her young age, she has already travelled to many countries and possesses quite a broad knowledge of the world. In December, after a two-month stay at our school, she flew back to her family in Istanbul, where she spends most of the year while waiting for new teaching opportunities.
Throughout her time with us, Şeyma worked with students across primary and secondary levels, speaking with them by means of sets of activities, and as a result, helping them improve their English skills through active practice sessions. Her open-mindedness and outgoing personality made her quite well-liked by both students and teachers. Şeyma’s enthusiasm for languages and cultures, along with her energy, helped create a positive atmosphere at school, encouraging some students to try to improve their language skills. During her stay, she was hosted by a student’s family.
We are grateful for Şeyma’s contribution to our school and wish her the best as she continues her journey in teaching.
We will miss you, Şeyma!
