We TRAVELLED to BARI (ITALY) to participate in our 3rd ERASMUS+ MOBILITY

A group of 7 students and 3 teachers travelled to Italy on the 26th March. The mobility in Italy aimed to get the participants familiar with the peasant and agricultural culture typical of Andria and its region. This was achieved through the presentation of the artistic output of Carlo Levi. For the same reason we visited Matera, declared the European Culture Capital for 2019 and related to the artist’s life and output; there we visited the museum of Palazzo Lanfranchi and the exposition of C. Levi paintings and the typical Paleolithic dwellings called “Sassi” and awarded World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993. We also visited the “Castel del Monte”, listed in the UNESCO heritage, which represents the real symbol of Andria.

Apart from the sightseeing, all the participants were involved in activities at school as the welcoming ceremony with some Italian students dancing popular regional dances and another group of students singing the Ode to the Joy. Students did workshops at school based on traditional music and folk dances inspired by the artist guide of Italy – Carlo Levi – and by his art of portraying; and a workshop about different NON-verbal languages (the meaning of some gestures in different cultures).
