The 23rd of April is a very important day in Catalonia because of St. George celebration. But, did you know that it is celebrated worldwide as the International Book Day<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It all started in 1995 when the UNESCO<\/strong> decided to dedicate a day a year to promote reading<\/strong>, a lifelong skill key in learning<\/strong> that also adds richness to our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate this day, we read a story<\/strong> about a dragon and a knight.<\/strong>.. that needed to learn fighting<\/strong>! We had to work very hard<\/strong> to read because the images and the text<\/strong> were separated<\/strong>. The task was easy<\/strong> once we realised that we could use some reading strategies<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-It is not necessary <\/strong>to understand all the words<\/strong>, just the important ones!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

-A lot of words<\/strong> are very similar to Catalan or Spanish<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

–Images<\/strong> give a lot of information<\/p>\n\n\n\n
