L&#8217;estrella m\u00e9s propera a la Terra \u00e9s el Sol.<\/p>\n<p>Altres estrelles s\u00f3n visibles a simple vista des de la Terra durant la nit, apareixent com una diversitat de punts lluminosos fixos al cel per la seva immensa dist\u00e0ncia de la mateixa.<\/p>\n<p>Hist\u00f2ricament , les estrelles m\u00e9s prominents van ser agrupades en constel\u00b7lacions i asterismos, i les m\u00e9s brillants van ser denominades amb noms propis. Els astr\u00f2noms han recopilat un extens cat\u00e0leg, proporcionant a les estrelles designacions estandarditzades. No obstant aix\u00f2, la majoria de les estrelles a l&#8217;Univers, incloent totes les que estan fora de la nostra gal\u00e0xia, la Via L\u00e0ctia, s\u00f3n invisibles a simple vista des de la Terra. De fet, la majoria s\u00f3n invisibles des del nostre planeta fins i tot a trav\u00e9s dels telescopis de gran pot\u00e8nci<span lang=\"ca\">qual travessa l&#8217;interior de l&#8217;estrella i, despr\u00e9s, s&#8217;irradia cap a l&#8217;espai exterior. Gaireb\u00e9 tots els elements naturals m\u00e9s pesats que l&#8217;heli es creen per nucleos\u00edntesi estel\u00b7lar durant la vida de l&#8217;estrella i, en algunes d&#8217;elles, per nucleos\u00edntesi de supernova quan exploten.<br \/>\nDurant al menys una part de la seva vida, un estel brilla a causa de la fusi\u00f3 termonuclear de l&#8217;hidrogen en heli en el seu nucli, que allibera energia la qual travessa l&#8217;interior de l&#8217;estrella i, despr\u00e9s, s&#8217;irradia cap a l&#8217;espai exterior.
