Irish Week

From 12th to 16th June, our school was immersed in Irish culture.

Students from I3 to year 6 went through different activities related to the Emerald Isle, Ireland (dances, songs, pottery, arts and crafts, cinema and so on).

It was a successful week where the whole school community was involved. Many thanks to all the students, teachers and families for making it possible.

I5- Run, run, run story

The giraffe is eating leaves from a tall tree. Munch, munch, munch. But look… the lion is coming!!!

Do you want to know what happens in the story? I5 kids show you in the next mini videos. We had great fun during the performances! 3, 2, 1… ACTION!

During the 2nd term I5 kids have been working through the story “Run, run, run”, a tale about animals. Children have learnt new vocabulary related to animals and some short structures. Moreover, pupils have created an animal mask in order to represent the story in small groups.

4t- English around us

Les noies i els nois de Quart han estat fent una activitat dins de l’àrea de Llengua anglesa, amb la qual han hagut de cercar a casa, productes d’ús habitual etiquetats en aquesta llengua.

Prèviament, han estat fent recerca a Internet, amb els portàtils, a l’aula.

L’objectiu primordial d’aquesta tasca és ser conscient que l’anglès ens envolta constantment i molts cops no ens n’adonem.

L’activitat s’anomena “English around us” (“L’anglès ens envolta”).

Ha estat un treball en petit grup, s’han distribuït la tasca i han hagut “d’investigar” què significa cada etiqueta trobada i intentar deduir el perquè el fabricant li ha posat aquest nom i no un altre.

Us mostrem els murals que han realitzat i que han exposat a la resta de companyes i companys.

I5- The magic elf

I5 students have finished the “Magic elf” unit by singing the magic elf song and acting out the story. Through the story, kids have learned new vocabulary related to toys (bike, ball, car, robot, car), short structures (Can I have a…, please?, Here you are!), different actions (jump, turn around, close your eyes) and the “Magic elf” song.

Pupils have also worked in small groups in order to represent a short dialogue from the story.

7 wonders of the world

Do you know what the 7 wonders of the world are?

We, 5th graders, have been learning about all of them during the first term. About  the countries they are located in, their flags, their capitals, the timeline and so on. Find them below:

  • The Colosseum, Rome, Italy
  • The Great Wall of China.
  • The Taj Mahal, India
  • Christ the Redeemer, Brazil.
  • Machu Picchu, Peru.
  • Chichén Itzá, Mexico
  • Petra, Jordan.

4t- Intercanvi amb l’Índia

Aquí teniu un vídeo sobre la Castanyada, que forma part de la primera entrega d’activitats d’intercanvi amb l’escola de l’Índia. Està protagonitzat per un grup d’ alumnat de 4t, que ha treballat en aquest Taller. Es presenten i expliquen, a grans trets, què és la Castanyada i com se celebra tant a nivell general com a l’escola.

4rt-The lemon tree concert

Part de l’alumnat de 4tB, ha participat com a cantants i la resta, de públic en un ”concert” en llengua anglesa  a l’aula. El motiu és que s’ha treballat una cançó molt famosa, en el seu temps,

“The lemon tree” (Fool’s garden) tot relacionat- la amb el Projecte VD Maresme de la nostra escola.

En aquest nivell de Primària, estudiem els arbres, les seves parts, els noms dels  que tenim al pati, etc. I què millor que gaudir aprenent i cantant una cançó com aquesta!

Scottish week

Al llarg de la primera setmana de juny vam celebrar la Scottish Week, una setmana dedicada a l’aprenentatge de la cultura i les tradicions escoceses. Cada tarda de la setmana va estar dedicada a un tema d’Escòcia: el país, la llegenda de Loch Ness Monster, el kilt i el tartà, els highland games o la música tradicional escocesa amb els bagpipes, entre d’altres. Van ser unes tardes molt intenses però ens ho vam passar molt bé coneixent una mica més d’aquesta cultura. Per acabar la setmana, el divendres per la tarda, vam escoltar un petit concert de gaites de la mà del grup Agarimos de Badalona, un grup de nois i noies gallecs o familiars de gallecs que han continuat la tradició musical gallega. Moltes gràcies a tots i a totes per la participació!
