In 6th grade, our students have the opportunity to learn the four main English skills in reduced groups.<\/p>\n

Students\u00a0have an English Skills session\u00a0for an hour and a half,\u00a0 every two weeks. Besides, it is a reduced group of learners (between 11-13) which is great to practice English, specially for speaking and writing.<\/p>\n

The 4 Language Skills<\/h3>\n

When we learn a language, there are four skills that we need for complete communication. When we learn our native language, we usually learn to\u00a0listen<\/strong> first, then to speak<\/strong>, then to read<\/strong>, and finally to write<\/strong>. These are called the four “language skills”:<\/p>\n

  1. Listening<\/li>\n
  2. Speaking<\/li>\n
  3. Reading<\/li>\n
  4. Writing<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The four language skills are related to each other in two ways:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • the direction of communication (in or out)<\/li>\n
    • the method of communication (spoken or written)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Note that these four language skills are sometimes called the “macro-skills”. This is in contrast to the “micro-skills”, which are things like grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.<\/p>\n
