El dia d\u2019avui hem anat a visitar l\u2019institut OSYK (Oulun Suomalaisen Yhteiskoulun Lukio) a la ciutat d\u2019Oulu. \u00c9s un centre que fa molts anys que fa projectes STEAM (a la ciutat d\u2019Oulu es va comen\u00e7ar a fer la xarxa de centres STEAM l\u2019any 2018). Hi ha un total de 640 estudiants al centre, 41 mestres, orientadors i 1 mestre d\u2019educaci\u00f3 especial. Va ser fundada el 1902 i \u00e9s la segona escola m\u00e9s antiga de la ciutat i pionera en ser una escola mixta aix\u00ed com d\u2019impartir els ensenyaments en fin\u00e8s, ja que al principi l\u2019educaci\u00f3 es feia en rus o suec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Els alumnes d\u2019aquest centre s\u00f3n de 16 a 19 anys i ells mateixos escullen el seu propi itinerari durant la seva estan\u00e7a al centre. Durant aquests tres anys d\u2019estudis tenen algunes mat\u00e8ries que s\u00f3n obligat\u00f2ries de fer i tamb\u00e9 poden escollir algunes assignatures, tasques o projectes on sumen m\u00e9s punts. En acabar els anys haurien d\u2019haver aconseguit 150 punts en total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9s un centre que t\u00e9 projectes internacionals amb Su\u00e8cia, Alemanya, Pa\u00efsos Baixos, Estats Units i R\u00fassia (tot i que ara no est\u00e0 activa a causa de la guerra). Tamb\u00e9 formen part de la xarxa internacional d\u2019escoles UNESCO, fet que est\u00e0 estretament relacionat amb la seva visi\u00f3 particular de l\u2019educaci\u00f3: una educaci\u00f3 hol\u00edstica, que fomenta la responsabilitat en els seus alumnes, inclusiva i creativa. \u00c9s per aix\u00f2 que tenen un projecte propi d\u2019art, dansa i teatre. A part de fin\u00e8s, ofereixen angl\u00e8s, alemany, suec, r\u00fas, espanyol i franc\u00e8s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

S\u00f3n un centre sense llibres tot i que els \u00faltims anys hi ha un debat de si cal tornar en algunes assignatures tornar a tenir-ne. El govern proveeix tot l\u2019alumnat i docents amb port\u00e0til per a treballar i estudiar. Tanmateix, ens han explicat que al centre els \u00e9s molt complicat fer projectes STEAM perqu\u00e8 el curr\u00edculum nacional i el propi de centre \u00e9s molt estricte i molt ampli i costa interrelacionar els diferents apartats. Molts dels projectes estan relacionats amb el projecte d\u2019art, teatre, o dansa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quatre alumnes de diferents cursos del centre ens han explicat un projecte que van dur a terme recentment.  Va consistir a realitzar unes decoracions nadalenques per les finestres molt t\u00edpiques a Finl\u00e0ndia, unes maquetes similars als nostres pessebres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les alumnes van haver de pensar el disseny de la decoraci\u00f3 i dur-lo a terme construint els decorats, muntant circuits el\u00e8ctrics, programant LEDS amb Arduino i ajudant-se de la impresora 3D per a fer algunes figuretes (majorit\u00e0riament ping\u00fcins).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Una mestra ens ha compartit  un altre dels projectes que es fa cada curs. Un grup de mestres i alumnes  es despla\u00e7a a la propera illa de Hailuoto i hi pernocten una o dues nits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Com que s\u00f3n un centre especialitzat en arts pl\u00e0stiques i esc\u00e8niques, all\u00e0 als alumnes se\u2019ls presenta un repte art\u00edstic que pot consistir en preparar marionetes gegants, fer m\u00e0scares i escultures o crear t\u00f2tems ii presentar-los. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today we visited the OSYK (Oulun Suomalaisen Yhteiskoulun Lukio) high school in the city of Oulu. It is a center that has been doing STEAM projects for many years (the STEAM center network began in the city of Oulu in 2018). There are a total of 640 students at the center, 41 teachers, counselors and 1 special education teacher. It was founded in 1902 and is the second oldest school in the city and a pioneer in being a mixed school as well as teaching in Finnish, since at first education was in Russian or Swedish.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students at this center are 16 to 19 years old and they choose their own itinerary during their stay at the center. During these three years of study, they have some subjects that are mandatory and they can also choose some subjects, tasks or projects where they score more points. At the end of the year they should have achieved 150 points in total.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are a center without books, although in recent years there has been a debate about whether some subjects should have them again. The government provides all students and teachers with laptops to work and study. However, they have explained to us that it is very difficult for the center to do STEAM projects because the national curriculum and the center’s own curriculum are very strict and very broad and it is difficult to interrelate the different sections. Many of the projects are related to the art, theater, or dance project.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four students from different courses at the center have told us about a project they recently carried out. It consisted of making Christmas decorations for the windows that are very typical in Finland, models similar to our nativity scenes. The students had to think about the design of the decoration and carry it out by building the sets, assembling electrical circuits, programming LEDs with Arduino and using the 3D printer to make some figurines (mostly penguins).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A teacher has shared with us another of the projects that is done each year. A group of teachers and students travel to the nearby island of Hailuoto and stay there for one or two nights. As they are a center specializing in plastic and performing arts, students are given an artistic challenge that can consist of preparing giant puppets, making masks and sculptures or creating totems and presenting them.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
