We have decorated our English Corner \u00a0with Primary kids\u2019 help and the P3 did a really funny handy-ghost.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/igPHbn4GTsU\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We know\u00a0the word Halloween and we really \u201cknow\u201d what to do that day, but do you really know the real story? Is everything born in US? It only happens in the States? Let&#8217;s see this brief story:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over 2,000 years ago people called the Celts lived in what is now Ireland, the UK, and parts of Northern France. November 1 was their New Year&#8217;s Day. They believed that the night before was a time when the living and the dead came together.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More than a thousand years ago the Christian church named November 1 All Saints Day (also called All Hallows.) The night before All Hallows was called Hallows Eve (Halloween). Halloween is a way of remembering and honoring the dead.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like the Celts, the Europeans of that time also believed that the spirits of the dead would visit the earth on Halloween. They worried that evil spirits would cause problems or hurt them.They thought if they dressed like <\/span><\/i><i>ghosts or other evil creatures<\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the spirits would think they were also dead and not harm them.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\nPeople in Europe (mainly children and the poor) used to go door-to-door, singing and saying prayers for the dead. Now in US they go door-to-door on Halloween for \u201cTrick or Treating\u201d to get candy.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The tradition of Halloween was carried to America by the immigrating Europeans. Some of the traditions changed a little, though.The Jack-o\u2019-lanterns were supposed to be a way of remembering dead souls who were in trouble.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nowadays in US that night the people the get dressed but it is not necessary to dress up as a thing of terror and be scared or \u00a0frightened, you can dress as a Fried egg or \u00a0as a big teddy bear\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>\u201cWhen black cats prowl and pumpkins gleam, may luck be yours on Halloween\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>HAPPY HALLOWEEN DAY!<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><strong>Hola a tothom!<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aquests dies estem celebrant Halloween, a la classe d\u2019angl\u00e8s hem estat fent algunes activitats relacionades amb aquest festival de tardor. Hem decorat el nostre English Corner amb l\u2019ajuda dels alumnes de primaria i els m\u00e9s petitons han fet uns \u201cfanmanstasmes\u201d molt divertits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tothom coneix la paraula Halloween i tots \u201csabem\u201d que cal fer aquest dia per\u00f2 realment sabeu la hist\u00f2ria real? Tota aquest festa va n\u00e8ixer als Estats Units? Nom\u00e8s ho celebren a Am\u00e8rica?\u00a0Aqu\u00ed us deixem una petita hist\u00f2ria:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><em>&#8220;Fa m\u00e9s de 2.000 anys, els celtes que vivien en el que ara \u00e9s Irlanda, el Regne Unit i parts del nord deFran\u00e7a. L&#8217;1 de novembre era el seu dia d&#8217;Any Nou. Creien que la nit anterior era el dia\u00a0en qu\u00e8 els vius i els morts s&#8217;unien.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><em>Fa m\u00e9s de mil anys que l&#8217;esgl\u00e9sia cristiana va nomenar el dia 1 de novembre, Dia de Tots Sants (tamb\u00e9 anomenat All Hallows.) La nit anterior a All Hallows es deia Hallows Eve (Halloween). Halloween \u00e9s una manera de recordar i honrar als morts.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Igual que els celtes, els europeus d&#8217;aquell temps tamb\u00e9 creien que els esperits dels morts visitarien la terra durant \u00a0Halloween. Es van preocupar que els esperits malignes causessin problemes o els fessin mal. Pensaven que si vestien \u00a0de fantasmes o altres criatures malvades, els esperits creurien que tamb\u00e9 estaven morts i no els farien mal.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><em>La gent a Europa (principalment nens i pobres) solia anar de porta en porta, cantant i dient oracions pels morts. Ara als Estats Units surten de porta en porta el vespre de Halloween per \u00a0fer el \u201cTrick or trea\u201d (Truc o Tracte) per aconseguir caramels.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\"><em>La tradici\u00f3 de Halloween va ser transportada a Am\u00e8rica pels immigrants europeus. Tanmateix, algunes de les tradicions van canviar una mica. Se suposa que les llanternes Jack\u2019o eren una forma de recordar les \u00e0nimes mortes que estaven en problemes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Avui en dia a EUA aquesta nit la gent es disfressa, per\u00f2 no \u00e9s necessari vestir-se com una cosa de terror i tenir o fer por o espantar, la gent es pot vestir com un ou fregit o com un gran \u00f3s de peluix &#8230;&#8221;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; padding-left: 30px;\"><b>\u201cQuan els gats negres ronden i les carbasses brillen, qu\u00e9 la sort t\u2019acompanyi a Halloween\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>HAPPY HALLOWEEN DAY!<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello everyone!<br \/>\nWe are celebrating Halloween these days, in English class we have been doing some activities related to this Autumn Festival.
