Avui hem celebrat l’English Day a l’escola!
Aquest matí hem començat el dia immersos en l’anglès amb una activitat molt especial: un contacontes! Els diferents cursos han pogut gaudir de contes explicats en anglès per les nostres mestres i auxiliars de conversa. La Juliana, la nostra auxiliar, ha explicat The Gingerbread Man a 1r i Way Down Deep in the Deep Blue Sea a 2n. A 3r, la Laura Miró ha captivat els nens i nenes amb We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.
Després del contacontes, 1r i 2n han posat a prova la seva creativitat fent uns dibuixos preciosos: els de primer han creat el seu propi Gingerbread Man i els de segon han dissenyat un meravellós fons marí. Els alumnes de 3r han utilitzat els seus Chromebooks per fer un Kahoot amb moltes preguntes relacionades amb el conte que havien escoltat, i han gaudit molt de l’activitat!
Després del pati, hem continuat amb jocs en anglès. Els alumnes de 1r i 4t han jugat a sis tipus de dòminos diferents, mentre que els de 2n han compartit partida de l’oca i del parxís amb els de 5è, i els de 3r amb els de 6è. La comunitat de grans s’havia preparat molt bé aquests jocs per poder guiar als més petits i explicar-los les normes en anglès. Ha estat una activitat molt enriquidora per a tothom!
A l’hora de dinar, el menjador s’ha omplert de sabors britànics amb un menú típic anglès que ha agradat moltíssim als alumnes.
Per tancar el dia, a la tarda hem anat tots junts a veure una obra de teatre musical en anglès: The Snow Queen. Com que feia temps que l’havíem estat preparant a les estones d’anglès, aprenent les cançons i la història, els alumnes han pogut participar activament i han gaudit moltíssim de l’experiència.
Ha estat una jornada fantàstica! Un any més, l’English Day ens ha permès aprendre, compartir i divertir-nos en anglès.
Today we celebrated English Day at school!
We started the day fully immersed in English with a very special activity: storytelling! The different year groups enjoyed English stories told by our teachers and language assistant. Juliana, our conversation assistant, told The Gingerbread Man to 1st and Way Down Deep in the Deep Blue Sea to 2nd. In 3rd, Laura Miró captivated the children with We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.
After the storytelling sessions, 1st and 2nd got creative: 1st made beautiful drawings of gingerbread men, and 2nd illustrated colourful underwater scenes. Meanwhile, the 3rd students used their Chromebooks to play a Kahoot quiz filled with questions about the story they had just heard – and they had a great time!
After the break, the fun continued with English games. Year 1 students played six different types of dominoes with the help of Year 4 students. Year 2 teamed up with Year 5, and Year 3 played with Year 6 — all enjoying games like Ludo and Snakes and Ladders. The older students had prepared the games thoroughly in advance and were fantastic at guiding the younger ones in English, teaching them the rules and giving instructions in the language.
At lunchtime, we enjoyed a delicious traditional English menu that everyone loved!
To end the day, in the afternoon we all attended a musical theatre performance of The Snow Queen. Since we had been preparing for it in our English lessons for months — learning the songs and the storyline — the children were able to interact a lot during the play and really enjoyed it.
It was a fantastic day! Once again, English Day gave us the chance to learn, share and have fun in English!
