A nivell demogr\u00e0fic el poble compta amb 1000 habitants censats. A partir dels anys 70, es va experimentar un fort creixement demogr\u00e0fic i en una d\u00e8cada es va duplicar la poblaci\u00f3. Aquest fenomen cal atribuir-lo a la instal\u2022laci\u00f3 de la f\u00e0brica T\u00e8xtil Puigner\u00f3, tot i que es va tancar el 2004. Aix\u00f2 ha fet que, al poble, hi hagi una gran manca d\u2019oferta laboral i que moltes fam\u00edlies marxin a d\u2019altres indrets a cercar feina. Paral\u2022lelament, el poble disposa de lloguers econ\u00f2mics i aix\u00f2 fa que tamb\u00e9 vagin arribant noves fam\u00edlies. Aquest fet provoca que, al llarg de tot el curs, hi hagi altes i\/o baixes de matr\u00edcula d\u2019alumnes<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;escola La Monjoia \u00e9s un centre p\u00fablic d&#8217;educaci\u00f3 infantil i prim\u00e0ria que promou en el conjunt de la seva comunitat una educaci\u00f3 integral, de qualitat i compromesa amb la societat actual, dins un marc de coeducaci\u00f3, catalanitat, la\u00efcitat, pluralisme i defensa de valors democr\u00e0tics.<\/p>\n<p>El nostre model d&#8217;escola considera a cada alumne com un esser \u00fanic, que no rep ni exterioritza la informaci\u00f3 com la resta.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;Escola la Monjoia est\u00e0 organitzada de la seg\u00fcent manera. A Educaci\u00f3 infantil hi ha la classe de les Formigues (P3), els Milpeus (P4) i els Grills (P5). A Educaci\u00f3 prim\u00e0ria hi trobem: els guacamais (1r i 2n) els gossos llop (3r i 4t) i els kiwis (5\u00e8 i 6\u00e8).<\/p>\n<p>El nostre projecte educatiu contempla, sobretot, la necessitat de donar l&#8217;atenci\u00f3 adequada a cada nen. \u00c9s, doncs, premissa de l&#8217;escola, con\u00e8ixer les possibilitats de cada alumne, i oferir-li l&#8217;ensenyament m\u00e9s ajustat a les seves necessitats de manera que cadasc\u00fa aprengui i es desenvolupi a un nivell m\u00e0xim. Per aquest motiu els alumnes trobaran una oferta de diversos agrupaments ajustats a les edats dels alumnes i plantejats amb l&#8217;objectiu de treballar cada \u00e0rea amb la metodologia m\u00e9s adient.<\/p>\n<p>A Educaci\u00f3 infantil, els infants treballen a partir de: racons (que permeten escollir i refor\u00e7ar el treball d&#8217;autonomia personal, al mateix temps que permeten treballar a partir del joc simb\u00f2lic, que \u00e9s l&#8217;inici del pensament abstracte), tallers (que permeten treballar diverses t\u00e8cniques en petits grups) i agrupaments de matem\u00e0tiques, psicomotricitat i m\u00fasica (que permeten treballar aquestes \u00e0rees d&#8217;una manera vivenciada i potenciant l&#8217;intercanvi).<\/p>\n<p>A Educaci\u00f3 prim\u00e0ria els alumnes treballen a partir de: agrupaments de llengua (que permeten el treball de llengua a partir de la comunicaci\u00f3 i de la literatura), agrupaments de matem\u00e0tiques (que afavoreixen el raonament, l&#8217;agilitat mental, la utilitzaci\u00f3 de les TIC i el treball manipulatiu), tallers (que permeten aprendre a treballar en grup de manera cooperativa i potencien les capacitats de cada nen), racons d&#8217;angl\u00e8s.<\/p>\n<p>Tota l&#8217;escola participa en diferents projectes: pla de lectura (per potenciar les ganes de llegir explicant contes i presentant lectures), projecte interdisciplinar (un tema, que varia cada any, i que treballem al llarg de tot el primer trimestre des de totes les \u00e0rees i tots els cursos), l&#8217;hort ecol\u00f2gic (promou el treball d&#8217;observaci\u00f3 i seguiment de les plantes, la responsabilitat dels nostres alumnes), tutors de contes (hi participen els alumnes de cicle superior i educaci\u00f3 infantil.
