-The “Escola de Viticultura I Enologia Mercè Rossell i Domènech” is a school of public education belongs the Regional Ministry of Agriculture of Catalonia, and dedicated to formal vocational training in viticulture, enology, wines business and marketing, and agriculture and wine sector courses.
-The institution is situated in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, near Barcelona and named “the capital of CAVA”, a kind of sparkling wine. The school has 12 teachers, performs 100 students in short cycle in viticulture, enology and business and marketing, and specialized 200 wine professionals.
-The wine sector requires international working and contacts, in last year’s we are promoting international mobility in referents wine region from Europe (France, Italy, and Austria). So far we have practical training and mobility from 1995 until now:
1995 Leonardo with CFPPA Lycée de Beaune (Bourgogne-France)
2002 Comenius Lycée Viticole Nîmes.
2007 3 practical trainings in Austria (Weinbauschule Krems). 1 practical training in France (Lycée viticole La Tour Blanche, Bordeaux).
2008 3 practical trainings in Italy ( Instituto Umberto I Alba, Piemont). 3 practical trainings in France (LEGTA Charles Baltet, Champagne).
2009 3 practical trainings in Italy ( Instituto Umberto I Alba, Piemont). 6 practical trainings in France (LEGTA Charles Baltet, Champagne).
2010 2 practical trainings in France (Lycée de Beaune, Bourgogne).
2009-11 Comenius “Water for Life”.
2011 3 practical training in Italy (Instituto Umberto I Alba). 2 practical trainings in France( Lycée Montagne, Bordeaux).
2012 2 students practical trainings in cellars from Bourgogne (partner school Lycée de Beaune, Bourgogne, France).
2013 2 students practical trainings in cellars from Bourgogne and 2 in cellars from Champagne (partner school Lycée de Beaune, Bourgogne, France).
-Since the school was funding in 1988, it was member of the Association of European vine school, association which meets in different European country each two years, to further with the collaboration, harmonization of studies and exchanges between schools.
We take the contacts made in the association of Europe vine school, and we also profit historical contacts with teachers specialized in international mobility’s.
We want maintain the existing good partners and look for new strong partners school and companies in viticulture, enology, and wine business and marketing in different wine regions from Europe. Every year we prepare between three or six student’s stays mobility and four or six incoming mobility.
